Submissions Rules and Guidelines
The OnlineProfs.com website is a web-based business directory of professionals and small and medium companies that have an online presence. Our ultimate goal is to build and offer a valuable Internet resource for our visitors searching online for products and services. That is why we are very selective in accepting websites into our business directory.
We only consider for directory inclusion the websites that respect a minimum set of rules and submission guidelines. Please make sure that you read the following guidelines before submitting your website:
DO NOT
- We are an English only based database. Do not submit non-English web sites unless they have an English version available;
- Do not submit mirror sites or sites that redirect to another address (same content, different URLs);
- Do not submit sites under construction; the site must be complete and must be online. All links on the site must function properly, no broken graphics or forms, etc;
- Do not submit sites consisting largely of affiliate links, directories or farm links;
- Do not submit sites having links or that are related to pornography, bestiality, etc.;
- Do not submit sites that don’t have their own domain name.
DO
- Submit the “root” URL of your website. In our view, the address mysite.com is the same with mysite.com/index.htm or mysite.com/viewProducts.php, etc. because in the end, all those links represent the same site – which is mysite.com. The ONLY exception to this rule is websites that indeed offer more than one service (for example, a company that offers both Internet marketing services and financial services). In that case we accept the submission of “deep links”, links that point to specific sections or pages within the website (up to a maximum of 4 categories per website);
- Use an objective approach when describing the content of the site and not a promotional one. While the idea is to promote your company and products/services, submitting a “we are the best, the #1 in the business” description rather than an objective, well written one, may significantly lower the chances for your site to be listed.
We may delete, not approve or edit submissions that do not comply with the suggested guidelines or that we otherwise believe, should not be included in our database. With your help, we hope to build the largest small and medium businesses database that will benefit both the companies listed as well as the visitors looking to buy products and services online.
Verified Member
Besides verifying compliance with the rules and guidelines listed above, at the time when a submission is received, we do the due diligence to check if the new member qualifies for Verified Member status. By using common sense, our editors check to see if the site is legit, if there are no scams or “bad” postings related to the company and its website, etc. Because this additional service is offered only to express submissions, a site with no Verified Member logo on it does NOT imply that the company listed is not trustworthy! THE ONLY THING THAT THE LOGO IMPLIES IS THAT AT THE TIME OF THE SUBMISSION A DUE DILIGENCE CHECK HAS BEEN PERFORMED.
Thank You!
